Abstract: Medically unexplained physical symptoms (MUPS) are prevalent in many medical specialties.1 The associated abnormal illness behaviors usually result in over-utilization of health care services.2 We present a patient who suffered from intractable and medically unexplained low back pain who was successfully treated.
